I wear Z-coils because I have bad feet.
I lust after Fluevogs because they make awesome shoes, that aren’t always just black.
So I’m taking a pair of old Z-coils, and painting new life into them.
Mostly because I really want some new shoes that aren’t black and I can’t afford a Fluevog purchase.

My color scheme is Fluevog influenced.
I took apart the shoes to clean them, and wiped them down with mineral spirits. Every site I looked at with painting your shoes DIY info said to do that.
Im color blocking with magenta highlights.
The pink hasn’t come out as I would like. I ended up doing a base coat in red to help.
I also took them apart so I could get to the coils easier.
Im using some paint specifically for use on leather, and Neopaque and Lumiere paints from Jacquard.
Okay, After I started and took these pics I wasn’t happy with the pink. Its too baby pink and pale, not intense like the bottle. So I went and bought some Neopaque pink and a bottle of liquid acrylic flow pigment in a more intense magenta and mixed it all together.
After too many more coats of paint I got the right color finally on the springs.
I also changed the shape of the blocking on the toe box.
So far the pink is all I have done.
