Enchanted Challenge: Riverbed Ring

Confession time:
I was so nervous making this ring!
I haven’t had my fingers in metal clay in over 2 years.
But I still have lots of clay. At some point, someone started packaging PMC+ in 2 gram packets with an eye hook, for quick pendants or something.

I know I have them for either some demos or from when I was planning on teaching.

I also have lots of wire.

And CZs

I went with a simple single stone. If I had been thinking more clearly I probably wouldn’t have gone with a clear one. Oh well

Made my ring, it wasn’t too horrible, and I actually did remember some of the processes.

Refined my ring, and popped it in the kiln.

The ring shank came out black, guess that wire was not properly labeled, and was sterling, not fine silver.

I jumped on Facebook and asked what were some pickle alternatives. Boiling it in a pan with aluminum foil and baking soda was one of the recommendations, and I must say it worked beautifully.

Probably too much time in the tumbler, and voila I have a ring.
